TONL20220421030 – Carbon neutral, autonomous, marine drone to protect, clean and monitor waters offered for distribution

Short summary

A Dutch SME, active in cleantech autonomous solutions, has developed a highly innovative (award-winning) technology to protect, clean and monitor waters with a data-driven autonomous surface vessel (ASV) / aqua-drone. The carbon neutral aqua-drone can be used in urban, rural, industrial and leisure environments.

The Dutch company offers a commercial agreement with technical assistance to potential distributors active within marine-, and water environments.

Full description

“Plastic waste is one of the main environmental challenges our planet faces in the marine environment.” The innovative solution (award-winning and supported by the EU Green Deal) developed by the Dutch SME is the world’s first ASV designed to remove unwanted, floating material (such as plastics) from waters in urban, rural, industrial and leisure environments.

The autonomous surface vessel (ASV) designed to be efficient, long-lived, nonthreatening and unobtrusive. With zero greenhouse emissions. The innovative ASV can be deployed in a specific waste-rich area where it finds, collects the debris and then safely returns it.

It is specifically designed for in-shore use where waste and biomass tend to collect and designed to be deployed with pre-set mission routes on your chosen waterbody. By selecting an operating route and predetermining its path, it is ensured that the region required, for waste or data collection is covered. Routes can be saved and re-run and in addition, the drone uses GPS routes to navigate to the desired areas and to return home other options to increase safety (collision avoidance) and/or enhanced data captured from the environment.

-10 hours in water

– 5km range

– 3 km/h

– 500 kg debris can cleared per day

– Autonomous waypoint mission path (4G)

The innovative ASV is already in use in several countries in various environments.

The Dutch company is looking for a long-term partner that can act as distributor.

Preferably the partner has knowledge of waste removal equipment within

marine-, and water environments, drones (robotics software) and has network connections to ports, harbours, local government and/or other relevant organisations. The partner will be responsible for sales and technical implementation, maintenance and client relations.

Advantages and innovation

Compared to similar solutions and available technologies others are either static and therefore have to be placed at multiple points in the water to work effectively or are simply too large to reach the smaller areas where waste and debris typically collects.

This solution offers easy deployment, mobility and maneuverability (with a patented hull design, small enough to fit between craft and quaysides, big enough to collect significant volumes of waste.)

Many waste collecting vessels spend a disproportionate amount of time out of action while waiting for large areas of trash chokeholds to develop before they are deployed. This often sees most of the waste sinking to the bottom and becoming irretrievable; this design can provide daily maintenance of a water body cheaply and effectively.

Other advantages:

– Zero greenhouse emissions

– Easy to operate

– Low cost

– Transportable
